About Us

You'll find a very warm welcome at the Lowestoft Photographic Club, which meets at the Trinity Church Hall, in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The church hall is accessed by turning into Park Road from Yarmouth Road and then left into the car park. It is at the rear of the church, opposite the Doctor's Surgery.  See location page.

We meet each Wednesday evening from September to May, starting at approx. 7:30 pm and generally finish before 10:00 p.m.

When the season has ended we have some summer sessions to fill the void until the new season starts with plenty of opportunities to take photographs that will be used in the next season's competitions.

Our programme is a mix of competitions, practical activities, talks by members and visiting lecturers. Our aims are to assist in developing photographic skills through the regular and friendly exchange of ideas. Membership is open to anyone interested in or practising photography, either conventional film or digital.

Visitors to The Lowestoft Photographic Club are always very welcome and are admitted free of charge for the first two meetings. For full details concerning current membership fees, entitlements and where to find us click here.

Digital is now the biggest type of photography used by members, alongside conventional film and slides. We provide an extensive series of events. In addition, the club offers a variety of outdoor and social meetings during the summer months.

Interest Groups - To cater for the special interests of some members, small groups often come into being and meet informally to share and develop expertise in a particular photographic skill. Examples might include: Portraiture, Landscape and Natural History.

Special Equipment Loan - The Club owns some items of equipment, including full studio lighting sets, which are available for a home loan to members for personal use only. Further information from, and requests to the Equipment Officer.

Whatever your photographic interest and experience, we feel confident that we can accommodate you. If you have any questions for the committee members, please go to the contact us section of the site.

The Lowestoft Photographic Club is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain, through the East Anglian Federation. This means that members can gain recognised photographic qualifications for their work. For more details, click the links above for the official sites.
